If you are a disabled individual, then the odds are good that you have some limitations that cause you to need assistance from day to day. Just as you may need assistance cleaning your home, or getting around, you may also need assistance doing things like filing your taxes. If this is true for you, then you should be aware of the fact that there are tax assistance programs that are designed especially to help people that are disabled, and you may also qualify for specialized help depending on what your income is.

The first thing that you are going to want to do is to contact the IRS to find out what types of assistance you qualify for when filing your income tax paperwork. There are several different types of help depending on what your needs are, including help offered directly from the IRS, help offered in the community, and help offered by the state or federal government as well. This is especially true if you are a disabled veteran or have passed the retirement age. The least that you need to know is that if you are disabled, there is help out there if you need assistance in filing your tax forms.

There is no reason why you should struggle any more than you have to when you are disabled. If you have trouble traveling to a tax preparer office, then the state or your local government can send someone to your home to help you with your taxes. This is a really beneficial type of assistance when filing taxes as a disabled individual because it saves you a lot of time and stress of trying to leave your home when your mobility is limited or when you are otherwise disabled and unable to file your taxes without assistance.
